Book Notes: June 14, 2023 - Inspirational Historical Romance Book Reviews

Welcome readers and writers! Are you in need of suggestions to add to your TBR list? I've got a couple of inspirational romance novel reviews. Both are set in the American West. Misty M. Beller has been an excellent addition to my reading repertoire. If you haven't read any of her books yet, I highly recommend them to you.

If you're here for the word prompt, just keep scrolling. It's ready for you.

Book Review: This Daring Journey (Heart of the Mountains #6) by Misty M. Beller

This Daring Journey (Heart of the Mountains, #6)This Daring Journey by Misty M. Beller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved It!

I love the way Misty Beller writes. The characters really come to life in vibrant, easy-to-imagine settings. The plots are easy to follow with a few interesting twists along the way, and the stories are always clean.
I loved how this story started with such a high-tension scene and just kept on moving. I was never bored while reading it.
If you enjoy clean, inspirational, historical romance, then I'd recommend this book to you.

Book Review: A Pony Express Romance by Misty M. Beller

A Pony Express Romance (Wyoming Mountain Tales, #1)A Pony Express Romance by Misty M. Beller
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

An excellent historical romance! I love how the author wove faith into the lives of these characters. The MCs were easy to love and felt pretty relatable to me. Everything was put together well from the setting, to the romance between the MCs, to the unfolding plot. If you love a good historical, inspirational romance with a good dose of actual events thrown in, I highly recommend this book to you.

I've enjoyed all the books I've read by this author. She writes in such a way that it's easy for me to settle into the story setting, invest in the characters, distinguish between MCs from one book to another, etc. She's an excellent author. Best of all, at least to me, is that she maintains a riveting story and her integrity when it comes to the inspirational aspects.

Just Keep Writing: Wednesday Whimsy

If this is your first time participating in this kind of writing exercise, you're in for a treat. If you've done this with me before, just keep scrolling for the prompt.

Rules:

  1. You can use any/all of the words and/or the photo in the prompt below to create a unique written work. Fiction or nonfiction, poetry or prose, even lyrics are acceptable.
  2. Please keep the material you write clean (i.e. nothing R-rated or worse) if you wish to share the link to your work here, as well as if you link back to my site. I strive to keep my site free of such things. My readers know and expect this. I respect your right to write whatever you feel you need to write. And you're free to use my prompts. But if your material is graphic, I'd rather not view it, and most of my readers will not wish to.
  3. Have fun! This type of exercise is perfect for growing in the writing craft, or for helping through a rough patch in your current WIP. If you're looking to push your author limits and you normally write in nonfiction prose, try a whimsical collection of lyrics. If you normally write poems about real life events, try your hand at a fanfic. Give yourself some room to explore.

Don't forget to leave a link to your creation (unless you're writing graphic material) so my readers and I can check out your work. I'd appreciate a link back to this post to help me reach more readers, but it's not required.

Well, this is an interesting list. What do you think? Workable? I'd love to hear from you in the comments below.

I'm so glad you chose to spend part of your time here today. Did you find something to add to your TBR list? Or were you looking for help in creativity? In either case, I hope you found what you were looking for. Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below.

Tomorrow, I'll have a new word prompt ready for you. Will you visit again? Please share the link with your creative friends, too. Thanks!

Until next time,
