Announcing Another Sale!

Welcome to the scenic route! If you’re a return customer, I’m happy to have you back today! I have a couple of announcements you might be interested in, especially if you love reading ebooks and finding them on sale, and if you’re a local who enjoys live readings. Keep scrolling to find out more!

Yup! It’s time for another Smashwords sale event! This month, you can get tons of ebooks on sale — both free and discounted! My books are included in the discounted section. I wish I could give them away, but I haven’t made enough earnings to be able to do that on such a wide scale yet.

Still, if you haven’t had a chance to purchase my books yet, now’s your chance to get them at 25% off! Since I’ve already priced them as low as I dare, the 25% will make the price even lower. I’ll still earn a little from these sales and every little bit helps.

My books also make nice gifts for young adults on up. So if you have a copy of Ripples and/or The Tale of Outh’n Durr already, and you enjoyed it, why not gift a copy to a younger relative or a friend?

The photo above is linked to the sale page. But if you want to go straight to my author page so you can grab my books quickly, click here:

What are you waiting for? The sale’s on now, but ends July 31st!

The other announcement is the monthly open mic event hosted by my local library. This month, it’s happening on July 25th at 2pm. We’re still meeting in the satellite location across from the main library building while it’s being renovated.

Speaking of that, I think the whole town is excited to be able to watch as the old is cleaned away and the new is born. The design sketches show it looking like some of the old buildings in downtown NOLA, in and around Jackson Square. I think it’s exciting that we’ll have a functional balcony, though I’m guessing that will only be open to certain patrons or maybe only open for certain library events. Either way, it’s a balcony and we’re excited!

There are also windows upstairs which none of us knew about. That should brighten the upstairs considerably. I’m looking forward to it because our library was DARK and it wasn’t easy to read in the areas where the bookshelves were. When I think about other libraries I’ve visited over my forty or so years of borrowing books, some of my favorite places in those libraries were the reading nooks with interesting windows or views.

Won’t you come out to the event if you’re in the area? You could read your favorite poem, a favorite chapter or two from your favorite book, or even sing a song or two. If you write or compose, you could share something of your own. Hearing the local talent is awesome and we love to encourage creators to keep creating.

Just to be clear, I do not work at the library myself. I have a good friend who works there, though. And I’ve frequented this particular library since my elementary school days. I’ve also volunteered a couple times when they need some extra help. EPL and I go way back. #mybestiethelibrary So when I talk about the library and what’s going on there, it’s like I’m talking about family, almost. Strange, I guess… What do you think? You can leave a comment below to share your thoughts on libraries or whether my own thoughts are strange or not.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope you’ll join me next week for more stories (two of them for certain!) and another installment of vocabulary help.

I would’ve prepped a story for yesterday, but Wednesday, I was on vacation. It somehow feels like cheating if I write it the day before. (I know. It’s probably not, but try telling my brain that.)

I did start a vocabulary help post. However, after traveling for 18 hours yesterday to get home from vacation, I’m so exhausted. I couldn’t put two helpful sentences about vocabulary together to save my life.

We figured yesterday’s drive was probably a record for us. Yes, it was tiring but the whole trip was such a blessing and so worth it. Our son-in-law had never been to the beach, and doesn’t swim. So we made sure he got a little experience with a swimming pool and some time spent in the shallows of the Atlantic. He had a blast and is now determined to get swimming lessons.

Overall, this week was a win in a lot of ways. I’m ready to get back to work next week, though. Please join me on Tuesday for a new story!

Until next time…
Keep turning pages.
