So Much is Happening!

Vintage Woman Author at her Writing Desk

Author Journey

So much has happened since the last post. Good news! You can now purchase an updated, paperback version of Ripples. Hard back copies won’t be available for a little while yet. I’m going to switch printing companies so I can make that happen, but it won’t be until after the new year.

I’ve been scrambling to get things together for my first live event at our local library. Yep! You read that correctly. As you may know, if you’ve been following the blog for a while, I’ve been attending the library’s monthly open mic events over the last year or so. When the revised edition of Ripples was almost ready to go, I was able to share my excitement over the project with the librarian in charge of the open mic. She worked with me to get this live event set up.

What I needed: hard copies of my book(s).

What I’m going to have: Hard copies of Ripples only.

Why? Because Scrivener doesn’t compile well when it transfers to the Libre Office program.

There were so many mistakes in The Tale of Outh’n Durr that I wasn’t even aware of. I thought I caught them all and I missed three, I think. One of those is a major issue. So while I /could/ purchase copies of that book, I don’t want to because they’re not up to my standards. I can, however, give away e-copies. I plan to give away two, along with a couple of door prizes I’ve been preparing for the last couple months.

So if you’re in the area and you enjoy meeting authors and hearing them read their work…

Or if you just love owning a signed copy of an author’s work…

Come join me at the Eunice Public Library later this month! Check out the flyer below for the details, or click it to visit their Facebook post about the event.

Live Reading at Eunice Pulbic Library 12-13-25

Live at the Eunice Public Libary! Not showing on this flyer, you must be present to win a door prize.

Upcoming Sale!!

Before my live event, guess what’s going on! I’ve had an opportunity to add my books to the Smashwords End of Year 2025 book sale. Check out my Events page for more info on that. Or just check out the graphic below.

Writer’s Life

If you’re wondering what kept me from posting since last month, I’ll give you a quick run down.

  • My uncle passed away unexpectedly.

  • The day of my uncle’s memorial, our sweet dog passed away.

  • I’ve been struggling with a few writerly issues, mainly when to start printing through a different company.

  • I don’t multi-task well when the tasks aren’t ones I do on a daily basis. Even with rote tasks, I sometimes fail at multi-tasking.

  • Correcting the mistakes in the manuscripts took a whole lot of time and energy.

  • Oh! And I was sick for a week with some kind of sinus thing.

I’m not going into more details than this today. I’m still pretty drained from all that’s been going on over the past few weeks. Please know that not writing a blog post on the days that I missed pulled at my attention and while I wanted to, I just couldn’t.

Conclusion

This turned out to be a pretty lengthy post! I hope you’ve enjoyed it. Maybe you’ll even take a chance on my book if you haven’t already. Whatever the case, I hope you have a great day!

Until next time…
Keep turning pages.
